This fragrant saffron rice is a simple yet elegant dish, perfect as a side or main course.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Canary Basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp butter
- A pinch of saffron threads, soaked in warm water
- Salt to taste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cardamom pods
- Almonds and raisins for garnish
Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Instructions:
- Wash and soak Canary Basmati rice for 30 minutes.
- In a large pot, melt butter and add cinnamon and cardamom. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the soaked rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Drizzle the saffron water over the rice and gently stir.
- Garnish with almonds and raisins, then serve.
